First Federal Savings and Loan

Thank you,  Mainstreet Shelbyville for your encouragement!

We are pleased to report that First Federal has enjoyed another successful year of achieving its financial budget goals while helping the community member owner-customers realize the American Dream of home ownership.  First Federal is a mutual organization, owned by its customers, rather than being owned by shareholders.  The year was the 132nd that our organization has achieved its mission, while also providing good local jobs and corporate citizen support to not-for-profit causes that make our community a better place to live.  We are also thankful that due to our long-standing good reputation, our loan loss history continues to be amongst the lowest of our peers.

Six years ago, in 2010, First Federal added a downtown location in Shelbyville.  They extensively restored the former Union Federal Bank on the Shelbyville downtown circle.  This has resulted in First Federal Savings & Loan of Shelbyville, located at 25 Public Square.  The Shelbyville office boasts employees that have a combined 86 years of experience serving the financial service needs of Shelby County.

All forty plus employees and five directors are dedicated to continuing to provide the best face to face/ Norman Rockwell type service in Shelby and Decatur Counties for many years to come.  When you choose First Federal Savings & Loan for modern banking services you can be confident that we are 100% invested in doing our part to keep your local Mainstreet/ downtown a community to be proud of.

We have a lot to be thankful for in Greensburg and Shelbyville.  We applaud the way the city and county officials are working together to support the farmer’s market, special events/ parades/ festivals, and building grant programs to help keep our historic downtowns healthy and significant to our community’s success.

Thanks for your support,
First Federal Savings and Loan
